The following is a brief review of each match:
- Manchester United (England) 2-1 Paris Saint Germain (France): When Manchester United lost 1-0 in the first round away game, with Lucaku's double goal and Lashford's final penalty, they completed an astonishing reversal, eliminated last year's runner up Paris Saint Germain with a total score of 3-3, becoming the first team in the history of the Champions League to still qualify after the first round home defeat.
- Arsenal (England) 4-3 Rome (Italy): After winning 2-1 at home in the first round, Arsenal drew 2-2 away from Rome in the second round to advance to the next round with 4-3 overall scores. Arsenal's two strikers Obamejan and Lakazette scored two goals respectively, and Roma's De Rossi and Pellegrini also contributed one goal respectively, but they were unable to change the result in the end.
- Atletico Madrid (Spain) 3-2 Juventus (Italy): Atletico Madrid defeated Juve 2-0 at home in the first round, and lost 1-2 away to Juve in the second round, but still defeated the Italian champions 3-2 overall. - Juventus (Italy) 4-3 Tottenham Hotspur (England): After a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the first round away game, Juve defeated Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 at home in the second round and advanced 4-3 on the aggregate. Juve's Higuain and Dibara scored two goals respectively in the two rounds, and Tottenham's Kane and Eriksson also contributed one goal and one assist respectively, but ultimately they could not reverse the situation.
