This European Cup has 24 teams participating, which is a new rule implemented since 2016, 8 more than the previous 16 teams. The 24 teams were divided into 6 groups, and each group had 4 teams, from Group A to Group F. Each group will have a single round robin game, and each team will play three games. The teams with the top two points and the third team of the four best groups will advance to the knockout phase. The knockout matches include the top 16, the top 8, the semi-finals and the finals. The single match knockout system is adopted. If the match is leveled within 90 minutes, a 30 minute overtime match will be held.
