The allocation of places in the play offs will be determined according to the 3.4 ranking of each group in the group match. Which teams are expected to be promoted?
According to the rules of the European Cup, the quota allocation of the play offs will be carried out in the following order:
- The third place of each group in the group match shall be ranked from high to low according to the standards of points, net goal, number of goals, fair competition points, European ranking, etc. The first four places shall be directly promoted, and the last four places shall enter the play off.
- If the third place ranking of each group in the group match is tied, the decision will be made in the following order:
- If the third place of two or more groups has ever met in the group match, they will be ranked from high to low according to their points, goal difference, number of goals, fair competition points, European ranking and other standards.
- If the third place of two or more groups has not fought in the group match, or their points, goal difference, goals, fair competition points, European ranking and other standards are the same, then the ranking will be determined by drawing lots.
- If the fourth place of each group is ranked side by side in the group competition, the decision will be made in the following order:
- If the fourth place of two or more groups has ever met in the group match, they will be ranked from high to low according to their points, goal difference, number of goals, fair competition points, European ranking and other standards.
- If the fourth place of two or more groups did not meet in the group match, or if their points, goal difference, number of goals, fair competition points, European ranking and other criteria are the same, then the ranking will be determined by drawing lots.

According to the table above, we can see that the third place in Group A, D and E has been determined to be qualified, while the third place in Group B, C and F will enter the play off. Finland, third in Group B, will play a play off against Ukraine, third in Group C, while Portugal, third in Group F, will play a play off against Poland, fourth in Group E. The two play offs will be held on January 28, and the winner will enter the top 16 of the knockout round together with the top two of the group match.
In terms of strength and status, Portugal and Ukraine are the favourites in the play offs, both of which have excellent lineups and achievements, while Finland and Poland are the underdogs in the play offs, both of which have weak strength and poor status.
